The Campus

The TASIS campus is a combination of academic, boarding, and recreational facilities that harmonize with each other and with the surrounding landscape. The location and campus stands on the Collina d'Oro ("Hill of Gold") in the village of Montagnola. The buildings date from the 17th century to 2014, each bringing a unique aesthetic and functional use to our students. Our Global Village truly comes alive when students are learning and living among these beautiful spaces.

TASIS The American School in Switzerland is nestled on the hillside of Montagnola, a short drive from Lugano. The city is renowned for its medical, commercial, and banking facilities, all examples of the security and stability that distinguish Switzerland. Lugano is a cosmopolitan town offering historical charm—characterized by broad piazzas, arcaded cobblestone streets, sidewalk cafes, restaurants, jewelry stores, fashion boutiques, and local food specialty shops.

The School enjoys an impressive view of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains. Urban yet surrounded by natural riches, our setting offers a myriad of cultural and recreational opportunities. Indeed, all of the TASIS programs view the School's environment as a natural extension of campus.
