TASIS offers two distinct programs in the alpine village of Château-d’Oex.
TASIS Summer Language Program (TSLP)
TSLP offers four weeks of intensive language classes for students ages 14-18 at all levels of French and English. A variety of sports and activities are organized in the afternoons and evenings.
The session includes half-day and full-day excursions to many of Switzerland’s sites of cultural interest and importance including Zermatt, Geneva, Bern, and Montreux. Overnight trips are also offered to students who enjoy hiking and camping in mountain huts.
Students wishing greater exposure to French language and culture may choose an optional 6 day trip to Paris at the end of the session.
Château-d’Oex Middle School Program (MSPCD)
MSPCD offers students ages 11-13, structured language learning in Intensive French or English as an Additional Language. Classes meet each morning, and afternoons are devoted to cultural, linguistic, artistic, and athletic activities such as horseback riding, tennis, hiking, or swimming.
On weekends, students participate in full-day excursions to various cultural and historical sites in Switzerland including Lausanne, Geneva, Bern, and the Swiss Open-Air Museum in Ballenberg.
In addition to the regular weekend excursions included in the program fee, students may select to join a cultural trip to Nice (the south of France), Luzern (in Switzerland), or a climbing trip to La Videmanette in the Swiss Alps.
