Theatre Workshop and Art Camp
Theatre & Dance Workshop
The Theatre Workshop is led by Gemma Ross, of the professional dance group, Tuca Dance Company and offers participants the opportunity to develop skills in areas including choreography and performance. The emphasis is placed upon dance used in the theatre, integrating elements of street jazz or hip-hop as well. Learning through fun is a key theme and students will be encouraged to be creative and input their own ideas throughout the dance workshop. Visits from a professional make-up artist, dance choreographers and a specialist ‘fight scene’ choreographer take place during the week. Students will be introduced to various drama skills including voice projection, public speaking, and how to work as part of an ensemble. The week culminates in a performance in the Fleming Theatre.
For students entering grades 4 and upwards in September 2013. Maximum enrollment of 15 students per session.
18-21 June, 24-28 June, and 19-23 August
Daily 10 a.m.– 4 p.m.
Art Camp - Hands-on Fun!
Art Camp will give interested students the time and opportunity to work with different ideas and media in more depth. Each week will focus on a general theme as well as a few specific artists. Students will have the chance to develop new skills, and work on more extended projects. Through structured projects and independent work in particular areas of interest, students will create both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art work.
