1st Session in Switzerland Ends
Posted 07/25/2012 02:28PM

Summers at TASIS whirl by in a cocktail of outdoor activities, songs, friendships, classes, trips, and laughter. First Session ended with the first Summer Programs Arts Festival, featuring four days of performances and exhibitions.

Among the events were talent shows by each of the programs, showcasing everything from gymnasts to rappers, magicians to countertenors.

Events on Tuesday, July 17 included sketch performances by the TSP Drama students, open dress rehearsals of the CDE and MSP musicals, and the opening of a combined visual arts exhibition with pieces by students from age 4 to 18. That evening was the world premier performance of Spy School by TSP, an original musical conceived, written, produced, and performed in the four-week program.

The final day, Wednesday, July 18, included two performances of The Princess and the Goblin by MSP students, and Bundle of the Living by CDE, both again, world-premier performances of these musicals by 'Maestro' Todd Fetcher. And, as always, Final Night ended with a boat dance for TSP and musical performances by CDE and MSP. Highlights included a beautiful rendition of Shenandoah by CDE and a rousing, electric performance of Sweet Caroline by MSP.

Congratulations to our many performers, and thanks to all of you for making it a summer to remember!
