Students: 160 from over 30 countries
Student-Staff ratio 4:1

Learn a Language
Our language classes emphasize spoken fluency and provide countless opportunities for students to practice the language they are learning, whether in our language lab, in conversation with their instructors, or with other native speakers in the program and beyond.

After completing the program, students receive a full academic report, including a letter grade, course description, and teacher comments. The program’s enviable location offers teachers and counselors many resources to support their work. To enhance language learning, students are housed with roommates who speak a language other than their own.

Our courses in Digital Photography, Musical Theater, Architecture and Design, Fashion and Textiles Design,  AC Milan Soccer, and the Armani Junior Basketball Camp, engage students both in classes, on campus, and during off-campus excursions where they pursue their subject firsthand. Teachers and counselors of all subjects lead frequent field trips to both academic and recreational destinations. Classes generally meet throughout the morning, with some days committed to field excursions that begin in the morning and continue into the afternoon. Evening study halls allow students to develop their proficiency and skills even further. After the program, students receive a full academic report, including a letter grade, course description, and teacher comments.

Sports and Activities
Following morning class time, students participate in an array of activities available at the School and nearby. Typical afternoon activities include soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, swimming, sailing, and windsurfing, as well as dance, music, photography, and studio art.

After a full day of activities, students spend the evening hours playing recreational sports, relaxing in the student common room, or having a gelato or pizza at the School’s snack bar. Students can also attend special artisan workshops, challenge the staff in ping-pong or volleyball, or practice their acts for the traditional talent show.

Weekly cultural performances feature guest artists such as a dance company from La Scala in Milan, an opera singer, or an a capella singing group. Evening social time offers students the opportunity to practice the languages they are learning and to appreciate the multi-cultural and multi-lingual experience that TASIS offers.

Travel and Discover
Under the guidance of staff, students participate in an array of trips, including half-day excursions on Wednesdays and Sundays, full-day trips on Saturdays, and optional extended weekend trips to distant cities such as Paris, Venice, and Rome. Different trips are offered every weekend, as our location allows us easy access to magnificent central European landscapes and cities. The program uses traditional means of transport, such as funiculars and cable cars, to explore our rich

cultural, artistic, and natural surroundings. Closer to home, students discover the incomparable beauty of the Italian lakes region – Lugano, Como, and Maggiore – that has attracted tourists and artists for centuries. More adventuresome students can join one of our outdoor adventure trips such as hiking, sailing, river rafting, and walking on a glacier. Specific details of trips and additional charges are available after enrollment or upon request.
