Art Teacher Workshop

Les Tapies, Ardèche, France
Sunday 18 July - Wednesday 28 July, 2013
Sponsored by the TASIS Foundation
"The dramatic beauty and old-world charm of the environment immediately captured me and inspired endless photographic documentation on a range of subjects from the grandness of the landscape to people in action to the small corners of the painting studio. Les Tapies is a dynamic community of learners with committed teachers, students and support staff all working together for common goals; to surround oneself in the beauty and rich history of this environment and to learn more about art and architecture on a deeper level. I came away with rich images which will inspire my work for many years."
Elaine Crivelli, Art Department Chair, Phillips Academy, Andover
"My experience at Les Tapies invigorated my interest in working en plein air; the dynamic community of artists there, along with the compelling setting, made the experience not only enjoyable, but memorable."
David Mayernik, Associate Professor, School of Architecture, University of Notre Dame

The ECIS-Les Tapies Fellowship
The late TASIS Founder/Director Mrs. M. Crist Fleming helped originate ECIS and hosted the first ECIS meeting on the Lugano campus. In recognition of this long-term association and to honor Mrs. Fleming’s contributions to international education, the TASIS Foundation has created the ECIS-Les Tapies Fellowship, which awards a deserving teacher from an ECIS member school up to 50% of the full Workshop fees. Candidates must provide an art portfolio of their work, a teaching philosophy statement, a recommendation from their school Head or Principal, and a résumé.
