Summer Day Camps
The Program
A summer program of fun and learning for children ages 4 - 10
The TASIS England Summer Camp involves children in learning activities that are both fun and stimulating, and encourages development in many areas during the long summer holidays.
The program makes full use of the facilities of the TASIS England campus, and the camp is run by experienced teachers and qualified staff from the TASIS England Summer School. We also welcome international children who wish to improve their English skills in a relaxed environment.
Each week the focus is on a particular topic or theme, such as castles, boats, jungle animals, or cities. Language arts and math, as well as art, music, and other specialist activities are integrated within each theme. There are weekly excursions to a site of particular relevance to the current topic.

Mid-morning and afternoon snacks are served, and lunch is provided in the TASIS dining room.
Mathematics, Language Arts, & French
The mathematics program uses manipulative materials designed for the appropriate elementary school level, and includes problem solving. The language arts component uses activities such as projects, puppetry, and writer's workshop to reinforce skills in reading, spelling, and creative writing. Role-play and games are used to teach basic conversational French vocabulary, a favorite part of the day for many children.
Computer, Music, Art, & Theatre
Computer classes are held every day for all children. The primary students become familiar with the keyboard and educational computer games, while the intermediate students take on a more difficult program, Spark Island, as well as word processing tasks and games. Art offers opportunities for students to develop their creative skills through printmaking, collages, drawing, and painting. Music or drama are offered in the afternoons to encourage children to develop skills, including improvisation and speech.
Sports, Games, & Activities
Games and activities are offered each day and may include kickball, soccer, frisbee, relay races, walking (Windsor Great Park), dance, wiffle ball, swimming, and sidewalk games, as well as indoor games on rainy days.
Excursions
An important part of the program is the weekly excursion. Typical trips may include childrens' theatre productions, museums, local nature reserves and zoos, leisure centers, historic sites and a boat trip on the Thames. These excursions draw on the extensive recreational and cultural resources in the area and are coordinated with the weekly themes. Parents who are interested in chaperoning excursions are encouraged to volunteer.
